A system is a way of working, organizing or doing one or many tasks according to a fixed plan, program
or set of rules. A system is also an arrangement in which all its units assemble and work together according to the plan or program.
A combination of hardware and software which together form a component of a larger machine.
An embedded system is a special-purpose computer system designed to perform one or a few dedicated functions, often with real-time computing constraints. It is embedded as a part of a complete device often including hardware and mechanical parts. By contrast, a general –purpose computer, such as a
personal computer (PC), is designed to be flexible and to meet a wide range of end-user needs.
Embedded systems control many devices in common use today.
Children need embedded systems to play smart video games and to operate an automatic chocolate vending machine. Young people need an embedded system to borrow smart cards from parents to see movies. Housewife needs embedded systems for smart complaints home appliance, such as microwave,
television, music system, and so on.
